Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dean Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kouta Hiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dean Martin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Martin ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kouta Hiro! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hiro clinches up with Martin and pushes him back against the cage. Martin tries for a takedown. No joy.
Martin is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hiro can't fight it off and eventually Martin manages to take the fight to the floor. Hiro looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Martin lands a couple of decent looking shots. Martin stopping the sweep attempt from Hiro. Martin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hiro swivels though and keeps the full guard. Martin working some strikes from top position. Martin working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Hiro is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Martin is controlling him. Hiro manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Martin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Martin tries to get out of the position. Hiro is looking to stand but Hiro has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Martin is trying to escape the mount.
Hiro is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Hiro seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Martin is holding on tight.
Martin is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Martin is working hard here to advance position. Hiro tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Martin slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Hiro looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hiro stands up and beckons Martin to join him on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hiro is looking to clinch. Martin moves into the clinch successfully.

Martin could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Martin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hiro is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dean Martin . That's going to take a lot out of him. Hiro gets underhooks to prevent Martin 's takedown attempt.
Martin misses with a punch to the body.
Martin wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hiro throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Martin blocks it with crossed arms. Hiro using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Martin has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Martin wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hiro has him pressed against the cage. Hiro with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Martin wants the takedown. Hiro is fighting it off but Martin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hiro's guard against the cage. Martin is breathing heavily. Hiro wants to stand up but Martin is controlling him. Martin wants to control from the top but Hiro keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin with a flurry of punches that miss. Martin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Martin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Martin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Hiro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Martin manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hiro won't allow Martin to sweep him here. Hiro wants to stand but Martin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Martin gets in close and instigates a clinch. Martin takes a knee right on the jaw!

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Hiro takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Stalling in the clinch from Martin .
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Dean Martin will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hiro tries to clinch but Martin moves out of range. Hiro tries to close the distance and clinch up but Martin swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hiro keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Martin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Martin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hiro is trying desperately to improve position. Martin connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Martin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hiro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Martin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hiro's waist but Hiro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martin off to one side. Martin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hiro as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dean Martin . That's going to take a lot out of him. Martin keeps the fight on the outside. Kouta Hiro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hiro tries to clinch up but Martin circles away and keeps his distance. Martin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hiro wants to clinch. Martin misses with an uppercut. Hiro saw that one coming. Martin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hiro sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hiro closes the distance looking to clinch and Martin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hiro's guard. Dean Martin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Martin is looking to work some ground and pound but Hiro has wrist control. Martin is in close to Hiro's body, working some short punches and elbows. Hiro has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Martin doesn't defend quickly enough and Hiro has managed to lock this one up! Can Martin escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Hiro on a fantastic submission victory.
