PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonny Rotten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Cerrone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Don Cerrone was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jonny Rotten!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Don Cerrone!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rotten shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Rotten was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Rotten tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rotten has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Rotten is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Rotten sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cerrone is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Rotten is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cerrone is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Cerrone throws Rotten to one side and escapes!

Rotten darts in looking for a takedown but Cerrone gets double underhooks and turns Rotten into the cage.
Rotten has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cerrone avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Rotten manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cerrone manages to get himself to full guard.
Rotten looking to sit in guard and control but Cerrone gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cerrone is looking to stand up but Rotten won't let him.
Rotten is trying to keep Cerrone in close.
Rotten looking for a sweep. Not yet Rotten, not yet.
Cerrone would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cerrone gets to his feet. Rotten looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cerrone tries a head kick but it misses.
Rotten fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cerrone manages to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Rotten counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cerrone's guard now.

Rotten is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cerrone is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cerrone has escaped and now he's on top!

Rotten had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cerrone defends it easily.

Cerrone wants to stand but Rotten is controlling his posture from full guard.

Cerrone decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rotten, up you get!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cerrone throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cerrone throws a sloppy head kick and Rotten moves out of range easily.

I would just about give that final round to Don Cerrone.
