PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kosmo Kramer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jethro Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kramer comes into the arena with O Jerry ....or is it Sherry....no matter its by Journey blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kosmo Kramer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jethro Savage!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kramer is looking to clinch but Savage is avoiding it.
Savage looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kramer tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Savage counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kramer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kramer has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Savage trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kramer is pulling down on Savage's head to control his posture.

Kramer is not content to let Savage control the position.

Savage is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Savage looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kramer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Savage wants to free his trapped foot but Kramer is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kosmo Kramer just wasn't active enough.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Kramer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Kramer throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Savage closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Savage uses his free foot to push down on Kramer's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kramer.

Savage cracks Kramer with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Savage can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kramer is looking to escape.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jethro Savage showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That kick from Savage tenderised Kramer's leg. Kramer is trying to keep his angry face on.

That was a close round but Kosmo Kramer did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.

Savage postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kramer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Savage, into his guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
