Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mikio Okita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caeser Augustus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caeser Augustus struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Mikio Okita has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Augustus clinches with his opponent.
Augustus prevents Okita from breaking the clinch.
Augustus lands with a light punch inside.

Augustus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Augustus tries to close the distance and clinch but Okita swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jab, jab by Okita - just one landing.
Augustus's coach down at 11th Planet Fitness ($300/wk) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Augustus's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Okita stuns Augustus with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Augustus decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Augustus wants to work for an arm triangle but Okita is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Okita slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Okita definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Okita manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Okita has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Okita has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Augustus's face.

Okita loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Augustus scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Okita land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Okita stands and salutes the crowd.
