Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kiichi Miyazawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sheldon Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cooper has chosen star trek theme as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kiichi Miyazawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sheldon Cooper!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper throws a sloppy head kick and Miyazawa moves out of range easily.
Cooper lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Miyazawa is defended easily by Cooper.
Cooper throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Miyazawa's head.
Cooper throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Miyazawa.
Miyazawa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cooper avoids it really well and circles away.
Cooper slaps away a takedown attempt from Miyazawa, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kiichi Miyazawa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cooper throws a head kick but Miyazawa moves out of range.
Cooper connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cooper misses with a jab, cross combination.
Miyazawa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cooper but Cooper pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cooper misses with a few strikes there.
Cooper tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Miyazawa swivels and escapes.
Miyazawa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cooper throws a right and a left that Miyazawa avoids nicely.

Cooper moves in looking to clinch but Miyazawa pushes him off.
Cooper misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Miyazawa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cooper throws a sloppy head kick and Miyazawa moves out of range easily.

Cooper shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Miyazawa's guard.
Miyazawa has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Miyazawa is adopting a defensive guard.
Miyazawa looking for a sweep. Not yet Miyazawa, not yet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cooper accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cooper must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Cooper is looking to work some ground and pound but Miyazawa has wrist control.

Cooper trying to control the position from guard on top but Miyazawa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cooper looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Cooper drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Miyazawa dives on top into guard.
Cooper trying to keep a closed guard but Miyazawa is proving a slippery customer.
Miyazawa sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cooper's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Miyazawa stops Cooper from getting back to his feet.
Miyazawa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cooper keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cooper keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Miyazawa has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Cooper's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Cooper wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Miyazawa looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Cooper is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Cooper in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Miyazawa wants to control the pace but Cooper is squirming around nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cooper tries to reverse the position but Miyazawa maintains control.
Miyazawa working the ground and pound effectively.
Cooper really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The referee warns Cooper that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Miyazawa lands a big shot there that rocks Cooper but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Cooper tries to reverse the position but Miyazawa maintains control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Miyazawa wants to control the pace but Cooper is squirming around nicely.
Cooper is in a horrible position here. Miyazawa smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Miyazawa fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kiichi Miyazawa will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


A head kick from Cooper lands but Miyazawa takes it in his stride.
Miyazawa takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Cooper tries to bum rush Miyazawa with a series of wild strikes but Miyazawa uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Miyazawa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Cooper wants to get back to his feet but Miyazawa drags him back down.
Miyazawa cracks Cooper with a big right hand but Cooper just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Miyazawa throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Miyazawa is looking to take a break and control but Cooper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Miyazawa moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Miyazawa is looking to take a break and control but Cooper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cooper manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cooper is looking to stall here but Miyazawa recovers full guard.
Miyazawa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cooper wants to control from the top but Miyazawa keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Miyazawa is controlling Cooper's posture.

Cooper lying in Miyazawa's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Miyazawa decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Cooper taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kiichi Miyazawa!
A less than humble Kiichi Miyazawa misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
