Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyle Fanco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pablo Pablos! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pablos shoots in looking for a takedown but Fanco manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pablos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Pablos blocks the body kick.
Fanco definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Fanco misses with a kick to the body.
Fanco is looking to land body kicks. Sloppy strikes from Fanco. Those never looked like landing. The fight moves into the clinch position. Fanco is fighting off a takedown attempt but Pablos is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Fanco to the mat. Fanco regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Pablos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pablos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Pablos drops back looking for a leg! Fanco is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fanco manages to kick Pablos off! Pablos jumps back into Fanco's guard. Fanco escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pablos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Pablos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pablos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pablos is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Fanco working for a triangle but Pablos defends it easily.
Pablos avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fanco is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pablos is aware though and is defending well. Pablos got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fanco has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pablos has managed to get both his arms back between Fanco's legs - danger averted. Fanco has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pablos is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Fanco. Pablos is looking to take a break and control but Fanco is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pablos has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Fanco is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Pablos yanks on the arm and Fanco is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Pablos.
