Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vincenzo Acevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Hendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hendricks comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fixing a Broken Hearth-A1 kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vincenzo Acevedo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johny Hendricks! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hendricks throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Hendricks dives in for a single leg takedown but Acevedo sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Hendricks pushes Acevedo back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Hendricks ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hendricks no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Hendricks looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Acevedo passes into side control.
Hendricks struggling a bit here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hendricks can do anything to dispel that myth. Hendricks tries to improve position but can't. Hendricks can't do much from the bottom here. Hendricks tries to get back to half guard but can't. Acevedo taking a breather here. Acevedo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hendricks struggling a bit here. Acevedo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hendricks has escaped the position, nice work there. Hendricks is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Hendricks is staying active underneath Acevedo, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Acevedo wants to pass to mount but Hendricks is defending the position. Hendricks is trying to control but can't.
Acevedo stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Acevedo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Excellent takedown into side control there by Hendricks. Hendricks tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hendricks has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Acevedo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hendricks off and has taken his back! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Acevedo controls the action. Acevedo keeps control of the position as Hendricks tries to break free.

That's three minutes gone in the round. What can Hendricks do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Hendricks fending off the submission attempt from Acevedo. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Hendricks's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Acevedo is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Acevedo really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Hendricks. Acevedo scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
I really don't envy Hendricks right now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hendricks keeps trying to improve his position. Acevedo somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. You can see the frustration on Hendricks's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Johny Hendricks will probably get the nod. That's time! Acevedo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Hendricks shoots in looking for a takedown but Acevedo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hendricks's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Acevedo is defended easily by Hendricks. Acevedo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Hendricks tries to get to full guard but Acevedo has control of the leg. Hendricks is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Acevedo jumps into side control! Hendricks tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Acevedo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Acevedo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hendricks is breathing heavily. Hendricks is letting Acevedo control him for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hendricks tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Acevedo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Hendricks is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Acevedo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Acevedo is figuring out what he wants to do next. Hendricks tries to get to full guard but Acevedo has control of the leg. Acevedo seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Hendricks wants to control the action here but instead Acevedo manages to pass to full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Acevedo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Hendricks hang on? Acevedo controlling his opponent. Hendricks is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Hendricks tries to control Acevedo's body but Acevedo pushes him off. Hendricks squirms to his side and now Acevedo has his back! Hendricks is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Acevedo.
This has been an exciting period of action! Acevedo punches the canvas rather than the man.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oooh a big shot gets through from Acevedo. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Hendricks wants to control his opponent's hands but Acevedo gets his hands free. Acevedo patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hendricks tries to escape the position.
Hendricks just trying to survive but Acevedo is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Acevedo looking to break Hendricks's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Hendricks remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Acevedo will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hendricks trying to control but not successfully. Acevedo looking for the choke but no joy. Acevedo biding his time, controlling Hendricks. Acevedo has the hooks in. Hendricks is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Acevedo tightening his grip on Hendricks, looking for the choke. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vincenzo Acevedo dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Acevedo tries to clinch up but Hendricks circles away and keeps his distance. No luck with that takedown attempt from Hendricks. Hendricks has taken the fight to the clinch.
Acevedo keeps control of Hendricks as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Hendricks changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Acevedo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Acevedo throws a right and a left that both miss. Acevedo is looking to clinch. Hendricks closes the distance and clinches up with Acevedo, looking for a takedown. Hendricks pushes Acevedo against the cage but Acevedo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Vincenzo Acevedo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johny Hendricks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Acevedo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Hendricks takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Acevedo is pressed up against the cage. Hendricks has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Acevedo down to the mat. Acevedo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Acevedo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Acevedo showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Acevedo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Hendricks keeping full guard, as Acevedo tries to pass. Hendricks throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Acevedo escapes and throws Hendricks's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Acevedo is staying tight to Hendricks's torso, preventing him from escaping. Acevedo trying to control the action but Hendricks is working from the bottom. Acevedo blocks the strikes from Hendricks.
Hendricks is trying to get back to half guard. Hendricks is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Acevedo blocks the strikes from Hendricks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hendricks seems a little lost for a moment, as Acevedo dominates the positioning. Hendricks taking punishment in the form of punches.
Hendricks is being controlled here. Acevedo throws an elbow but Hendricks slips to the side and avoids it well. Hendricks can't do much from the bottom here. Hendricks is trying to improve his position. Acevedo cracks Hendricks with an elbow. That is naaassty. Acevedo in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Acevedo has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Acevedo closes the distance and clinches. Hendricks has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Acevedo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Acevedo trying to control the position but instead, Hendricks has worked for underhooks and has pushed Acevedo into the cage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Acevedo displaying some good clinch control by pressing Hendricks up against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Acevedo gets control of Hendricks's arms and successfully pulls guard. Acevedo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
