The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luikku has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
We've been told by Handle's head coaches at Red Square Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Luikku with a lazy takedown attempt
and Handle holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Luikku stops a takedown attempt from Handle.
Handle lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Handle wants to take a breather but Luikku is having none of it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Handle throwing shots but Luikku is blocking nicely.
Luikku is pressing down on Handle's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Handle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Luikku on the ground.

Handle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Handle trying to control but Luikku is working from the bottom.
Handle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Luikku has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Handle has managed to get both his arms back between Luikku's legs - danger averted.
Luikku looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Luikku is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Handle is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Luikku has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Handle is looking to defend but Luikku has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Handle! Luikku pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Handle taps out and this one is all over!
