Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kreb Barishkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Ivanovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Barishkov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Seek and Destroy. Ivanovich has chosen Rammstein - Sehnsucht as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kreb Barishkov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alexander Ivanovich! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barishkov bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ivanovich's head. Barishkov lands a head shot. Ivanovich dives in and grabs Barishkov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barishkov pushes down on Ivanovich's head and hops out. Ivanovich's coach down at Madz was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ivanovich's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Nice takedown defense from Barishkov. No joy for Ivanovich on that attempt. Barishkov jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Barishkov is looking to score with low kicks. Nice body punch from Barishkov. Ivanovich tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barishkov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ivanovich somewhat. Kreb Barishkov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Ivanovich. Ivanovich shoots in and bounces Barishkov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Barishkov working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ivanovich. Ivanovich throwing strikes but missing. Ivanovich throws a big right hand that misses. Ivanovich postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barishkov wants to sweep here but Ivanovich controlling him for the moment. Ivanovich is looking to work some ground and pound but Barishkov has wrist control. Ivanovich throwing strikes from guard but Barishkov blocks nicely. Barishkov tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ivanovich throws a strike but Barishkov rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Ivanovich is controlling Barishkov's posture. Ivanovich throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Barishkov tries to free his leg and advance position but Ivanovich is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barishkov preventing the sweep. Ivanovich is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Barishkov postures up.
Barishkov won't allow Ivanovich to sweep him here. Ivanovich is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ivanovich can do anything to dispel that myth.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Alexander Ivanovich. Ivanovich manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Barishkov on his heels. He'll look to pass Barishkov's guard now, I'm sure. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ivanovich is pushing down on Barishkov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Barishkov is fighting to maintain full guard but Ivanovich has managed to sneak the leg through. Ivanovich throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Ivanovich is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Barishkov reverses the position - he's now on top in Ivanovich's guard. Ivanovich has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Barishkov has passed into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ivanovich is looking for a sweep. Ivanovich can't do much from the bottom here. Ivanovich might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Barishkov haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Barishkov trying to control the action but Ivanovich is working from the bottom. Ivanovich is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barishkov wants to control but Ivanovich is keeping him busy. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ivanovich is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Barishkov's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Ivanovich controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Barishkov looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Barishkov tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ivanovich knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Ivanovich is looking to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ivanovich is trying to control but Barishkov manages to pass to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Alexander Ivanovich will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A nice inside leg kick there by Barishkov. That's going to slow Ivanovich down. Ivanovich shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Barishkov as he avoids it easily. Alexander Ivanovich is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ivanovich on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Ivanovich fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Barishkov avoids it really well and circles away. Barishkov getting the better of the striking in that exchange. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Barishkov scores with a jab. Barishkov lands a nice hook to Ivanovich's body. Ivanovich takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Barishkov works the jab nicely. Ivanovich fails to land the takedown. Kreb Barishkov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Ivanovich. Barishkov connects with a solid leg kick. Barishkov connects with a body shot. Barishkov lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Barishkov! Ivanovich is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kreb Barishkov! After winning the bout, Kreb Barishkov thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
