Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Conrad Clarke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mariano Italiano!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clarke tries to keep at a distance but Italiano has taken the fight into the clinch.
Clarke managing to block the knees to the body from Italiano.

Italiano gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Italiano is trying to control. Clarke wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Italiano is working for a kimura but Clarke is defending it quite comfortably.
Italiano wants to take a breather but Clarke is having none of it.

Italiano is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Clarke is just riding it out for now. Italiano eventually gives up the hold.

Clarke looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Clarke is trying to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Italiano is looking to advance position but Clarke won't allow it.

Italiano is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Clarke doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Italiano.
Italiano takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Italiano wants to work for an arm triangle but Clarke is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Italiano is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Italiano is looking for a kimura but Clarke is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Italiano to get the leverage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Italiano lands strikes from half guard.

Italiano is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Clarke defends it well.
Italiano throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Italiano is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Clarke has managed to free his arm - good work.
Clarke wants to control but Italiano is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Clarke knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Italiano on the ground.
Italiano is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Italiano winds up and cracks Clarke with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Clarke really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Italiano seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Clarke does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Italiano decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Clarke goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Clarke looks to land a combination but Italiano avoids it well.

Italiano shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Italiano was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Italiano is trying to get an arm triangle but Clarke is defending well.
Italiano has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Clarke is not content to let Italiano control the position.
Clarke wants to control but Italiano postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Italiano looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Clarke's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Clarke tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Clarke struggling a bit here.
Italiano gets to mount! Clarke was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Italiano landing strikes, looking to finish!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Clarke tries to reverse the position but Italiano maintains control.
Italiano is in the full mount, landing strikes.


Clarke is rocked!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Italiano! Clarke is hurt baaadly! Italiano is firing away with more strikes - Clarke is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mariano Italiano!
A relieved looking Mariano Italiano thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
