Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikey Leonardo !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Filipe Mendes!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leonardo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Leonardo fails to pull guard.
Mendes wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Mendes has picked Leonardo up - he's going for a ride! Mendes dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Mendes works his way into side control.

Mendes has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Leonardo is looking to clinch but Mendes is avoiding it.

Mendes closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Leonardo to the mat! Leonardo manages to get full guard.
Mendes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Leonardo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Leonardo wants to stand and escape but Mendes is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mendes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Leonardo paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mendes gets a takedown into half guard.
Mendes is tying to control. Leonardo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Mendes looks gassed!
Leonardo pushes Mendes off looking to stand but Mendes dives back in and keeps control.

Leonardo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mendes is trying to control the action in half guard but Leonardo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Leonardo looks like he's trying to stand up.

Mendes is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Leonardo is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
