Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Terry Hobbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kichirou Yamauchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yamauchi has chosen Roy Jones JR Legend - Can't Be Touched as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Terry Hobbs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kichirou Yamauchi! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yamauchi shoots in and gets a takedown into Hobbs's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Yamauchi tries to free his leg and advance position but Hobbs is retaining full guard. Hobbs keeping moving, preventing Yamauchi from controlling successfully. Yamauchi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Yamauchi is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hobbs has Yamauchi pulled in close to control his posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yamauchi wants to pass the guard but Hobbs is keeping the position.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kichirou Yamauchi wasn't active enough on the ground. Hobbs feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yamauchi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hobbs! Hobbs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Hobbs tries to control Yamauchi's body but Yamauchi pushes him off. Hobbs squirms to his side and now Yamauchi has his back! Hobbs controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Yamauchi seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Hobbs's chin but Hobbs turns very nicely into Yamauchi's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Hobbs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yamauchi is trying to control the position but Hobbs postures up. Yamauchi looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hobbs puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Yamauchi is trying to get back to full guard. Yamauchi trying to control from the bottom.
Yamauchi might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hobbs haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yamauchi tries to get to full guard but Hobbs has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hobbs stalling. Hobbs trying to control the action but Yamauchi is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Terry Hobbs just wasn't active enough. Yamauchi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hobbs has Yamauchi pulled in close to control his posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yamauchi wants to control from the top but Hobbs keeps moving. Yamauchi engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Yamauchi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Yamauchi postures up in Hobbs's guard and throws a big left but Hobbs blocks it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kichirou Yamauchi dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Yamauchi moves into the clinch. Yamauchi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The fight moves into the clinch position. Yamauchi is trying to force a seperation but Hobbs has the dominant position. Yamauchi drags the fight down to the ground.
Yamauchi wants to stand up but Hobbs is controlling him. Yamauchi keeping full guard, as Hobbs tries to pass. Yamauchi looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hobbs lands with a slapping head kick. Hobbs closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Hobbs prevents Yamauchi from improving his position. Hobbs stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yamauchi trying to control but Hobbs postures up.
Yamauchi tries to kick Hobbs off but Hobbs keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Hobbs looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Yamauchi should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Terry Hobbs. Yamauchi closes the distance and clinches. Yamauchi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hobbs uses from the top position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Yamauchi pulls Hobbs in close to prevent any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yamauchi wants to get back to his feet but Hobbs is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Yamauchi working for submissions but it's allowed Hobbs to get to half guard.
Yamauchi is looking for a sweep. Hobbs is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Yamauchi pushes Hobbs off looking to stand but Hobbs dives back in and keeps control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yamauchi wants to control but Hobbs is keeping busy and won't allow it. Yamauchi wants to get back to his feet. Yamauchi is breathing heavily. Yamauchi wants to get back to full guard. Hobbs is looking for a kimura here.
Yamauchi wants to improve his position but Hobbs is controlling well.

A close second round but Kichirou Yamauchi will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

That's going to take a lot out of him. Hobbs has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Yamauchi regains guard immediately. Hobbs won't allow Yamauchi to sweep him here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Yamauchi looking to control but instead Hobbs has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Yamauchi frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Yamauchi wants to control the pace but Hobbs is squirming around nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yamauchi controlling from mount. Yamauchi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hobbs is looking to escape. Yamauchi jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hobbs is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hobbs and Yamauchi has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
And that's the end of the fight! Kichirou Yamauchi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Yamauchi winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
