Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Big Rich ,San Quinn & Boo Banger- San Francisco Anthem. Nub Nodes is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nodes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nodes wants it to stay on the feet.

Nodes lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Smith at a distance.

Smith takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Nodes's coach down at Soul Supremacy Elite Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Nodes's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nodes swivels and escapes.
Smith takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Aldon Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nodes feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Smith sprawling to the canvas! Smith rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Nodes finish him?!
Nodes misses the jab.
Smith fails with a takedown attempt.
Smith staying out of range there.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nodes sprawls well. Nodes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.

Nodes sends Smith crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Nodes is motioning to the referee to let Smith up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Smith is rocked!

Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Smith takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nodes sprawls well. Nodes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Smith will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Smith tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Nodes defends well and Smith ends up having to push Nodes into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Smith is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Nodes pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Nodes pushes Smith back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Nodes tries to break free but Smith pushes him back against the cage.
Nodes lands a shoulder strike.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Smith. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Smith keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Nodes's efforts to push away.
Nodes lands with a light punch inside.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Nodes.
Nodes is pressed up against the cage. Smith has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Nodes down to the mat. Nodes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nodes swivels and escapes.

Nodes cracks Smith with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Nodes has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Smith to stand back up!
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Smith seems to have got his legs back now.

Nodes drops Smith with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Smith looks back up at him and smiles so Nodes waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Smith shoots in but no luck this time.
Nodes drops Smith with a naaaaasty hook - Smith is in real trouble here! Nodes dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
