3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mihail Fedorenko! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fedorenko throws a nice looking combination but Plankton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Fedorenko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Plankton circles away. Plankton shoots in looking for a takedown but Fedorenko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Plankton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Fedorenko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Plankton lands a nice leg kick that just misses Fedorenko's sensitive parts. Plankton slaps away a takedown attempt from Fedorenko, before circling back to the center of the mat. No luck with that takedown attempt from Fedorenko. Bob Plankton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mihail Fedorenko. Plankton leaves Fedorenko with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Fedorenko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Plankton moves in looking to clinch but Fedorenko pushes him off. Plankton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Fedorenko tries for a takedown but Plankton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Plankton connects with a nice looking jab.
Mihail Fedorenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fedorenko avoids the head kick by Plankton.
Fedorenko looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Plankton swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Fedorenko.

Fedorenko looks winded! Plankton goes for a double leg but Fedorenko avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Fedorenko continues to drive forward. Fedorenko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Fedorenko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Plankton counters with a left and a right that stings Fedorenko. A head kick misses from Plankton. Plankton looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Plankton rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fedorenko moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Fedorenko misses with a head kick.

Plankton pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Fedorenko lands with a nice combination. Plankton backs away looking to recover. Plankton fails with the takedown. Fedorenko connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Fedorenko throws a nice looking combination but Plankton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Plankton is looking to clinch. Fedorenko throws a head kick that misses. Fedorenko shoots in for a takedown but Plankton shows good takedown defense. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fedorenko is defended easily by Plankton. Fedorenko fails with a takedown attempt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Plankton listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Fedorenko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Plankton tries to avoid it but Fedorenko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Plankton to the ground. Plankton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Plankton tries to bum rush Fedorenko with a series of wild strikes but Fedorenko uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Fedorenko shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Plankton manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Plankton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bob Plankton will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
