Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Misha Kubacz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Misha Kubacz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lou Peters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Misha Kubacz!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kubacz tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Peters counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Peters throws a head kick but Kubacz moves out of range.
Kubacz wants to clinch up but Peters keeps it at a distance.
Kubacz is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kubacz doesn't manage to clinch there - Peters circles away.
Peters misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Peters throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kubacz.
Peters throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Horrible takedown by Kubacz or perhaps it was just good defense by Peters which made him look bad.
Kubacz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Peters changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kubacz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Peters will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Kubacz tries to buck Peters off but Peters is having none of it.
Peters is chipping away with strikes.
Peters is looking to take a break and control but Kubacz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Peters tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Peters has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Peters really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Peters is working Kubacz over with some ground and pound from side control.
Peters wants to stand but Kubacz has his arm trapped.
Kubacz is looking to reverse the position.

Kubacz takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
You can see the frustration on Kubacz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kubacz seems a little lost for a moment, as Peters dominates the positioning.
Kubacz is not content to let Peters control the position.

Peters is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kubacz has escaped the position, nice work there.
Peters remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Peters wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kubacz keeps working.
Kubacz is trying to get back to half guard.
Kubacz is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Peters is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kubacz knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Kubacz is not content to let Peters control the position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kubacz tries to clinch up.
Peters darts in looking for a takedown but Kubacz gets double underhooks and turns Peters into the cage.

Peters has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kubacz clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Kubacz has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Peters really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Kubacz.

Kubacz is trying to break free.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Peters looking for the choke but no joy.
Kubacz is really stuck here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Peters is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Kubacz up.
Peters gets his hands free as Kubacz looks to control.
Peters lands punches and elbows.
Peters is not going to allow Kubacz to sit and survive in this position.

Peters has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kubacz has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Kubacz controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Kubacz tries to escape but Peters has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Peters lands with a hammerfist to the side of Kubacz's head.
Peters trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Kubacz doesn't escape.

Peters just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Peters controls the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peters cracks Kubacz with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Kubacz from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Peters struggling to keep hold of the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Peters is punishing Kubacz with some ground and pound.
Kubacz staying busy and making it hard for Peters to control.
Kubacz is trying to break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Kubacz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kubacz tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Peters defends well and Kubacz ends up having to push Peters into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Kubacz is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Peters is trying to push Kubacz away but Kubacz has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Kubacz jumps guard but Peters stands there with Kubacz around his waist. Kubacz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lou Peters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Misha Kubacz.
Peters content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Kubacz is looking to control Peters's arms but Peters gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kubacz has his back to the cage.
Peters wants to get back to striking at distance but Kubacz won't allow it.
Kubacz has Peters pressed against the cage, preventing Peters from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Peters is trying to pull guard but Kubacz turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Kubacz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Peters shoots in looking for a takedown but Kubacz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Peters's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kubacz lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Peters at a distance.
Kubacz shoots for a takedown but Peters saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kubacz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kubacz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Peters swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kubacz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Peters as he avoids it easily.
Kubacz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Peters avoids it really well and circles away.

Peters drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Peters advances to full mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Peters lands a heavy elbow.
Peters sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Peters trying to control but Kubacz is having none of it.
Kubacz wants to hold on but Peters pushes him away.

Peters prevents Kubacz from getting the reversal.
Kubacz flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Peters is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Peters extends the arm and Kubacz is forced to tap!
