Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boyce Henson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briggs avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Henson clinches up against the cage.
Briggs drops down looking for an ankle pick but Henson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Briggs shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Briggs is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Briggs postures up.
Briggs connects with a couple of short punches.
Briggs slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Briggs tries to free his leg and advance position but Henson is retaining full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Henson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Briggs controls the pace.

Henson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Briggs defends well.

Briggs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Henson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Henson wants to sweep here but Briggs controlling him for the moment.
Briggs postures up and lands a big shot to Henson's brow.

Henson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Henson controls Briggs momentarily but Briggs frees himself.

It looks like Boyce Henson has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Briggs is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Let's hope that Briggs has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Briggs with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Boyce Henson's cut is getting worse.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Henson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Briggs puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Briggs working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
