Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ferdinand Rollins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Williams! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rollins tries to clinch but Williams is having none of it. Nice takedown defense from Williams. No joy for Rollins on that attempt. Rollins gets caught flat footed, as Williams shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Rollins is looking for a triangle but Williams pushes his legs off easily.
Williams slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Williams working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Williams looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Williams wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rollins, who protects the arm well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Williams is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rollins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Rollins tries to bench press Williams off him but Williams keeps the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Williams working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Williams tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Williams swings around for an armbar but Rollins sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Williams's guard. Williams has his foot on Rollins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rollins works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rollins trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom. Rollins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rollins content to stall in guard here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rollins wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving. Williams is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rollins defends well. Williams is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rollins is aware though and is defending well. Rollins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Williams has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rollins has managed to get both his arms back between Williams's legs - danger averted. Rollins slips nicely into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Williams manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rollins defends it easily. Rollins is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Williams has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Rollins is looking to defend but Williams has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Rollins! Williams pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Rollins taps out and this one is all over!

A very excited looking Michael Williams made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
