Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Cobb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valeriy Grushevky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kurt Cobb! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Valeriy Grushevky! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grushevky shoots in but Cobb avoids the takedown attempt easily. Grushevky tries to bum rush Cobb with a series of wild strikes but Cobb uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cobb swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Grushevky defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cobb. Grushevky throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cobb counters by clinching up. The referee is keeping an eye on Cobb - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Cobb wants a takedown.
Grushevky jumps guard but Cobb turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Grushevky is trying to pull guard but Cobb has him pressed against the cage. Kurt Cobb has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valeriy Grushevky. Grushevky tries to pull guard but Cobb won't allow it.
Cobb decides to pull guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Grushevky postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cobb is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Grushevky, into his guard. Grushevky has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cobb can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grushevky pushes a forearm under Cobb's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Cobb is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
