Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Bashor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Alkofer! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alkofer scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Bashor prevents Alkofer from improving position. Alkofer tries to score with some ground and pound. Bashor controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Alkofer moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. This fight is sponsored by Chainsaw 7. More blood and guts and stuff like that, in cinemas everywhere now! Bashor is trying to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alkofer trying to control the action but Bashor is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bashor manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Alkofer throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Bashor is staying active underneath Alkofer, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Daniel Alkofer wasn't active enough on the ground. Alkofer works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Alkofer misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alkofer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bashor to the mat! Bashor manages to get full guard. Bashor being controlled here, momentarily. Alkofer wants to control from the top but Bashor keeps moving. Bashor tries to land a sweep but no joy. Alkofer tries to free his leg and advance position but Bashor is retaining full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Alkofer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Alkofer stopping the sweep attempt from Bashor.

Alkofer looking to sit in guard and control but Bashor gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Alkofer wants to sweep here but Bashor controlling him for the moment. Bashor pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alkofer is keeping the position for now. Bashor chips away with some ground and pound. Bashor throwing strikes from guard but Alkofer blocks nicely. Bashor preventing the sweep. Alkofer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bashor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bashor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alkofer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Alkofer keeping moving, preventing Bashor from controlling successfully. Alkofer is trying to keep Bashor in close.

Bashor postures up and lands a big shot to Alkofer's brow. Bashor cracks Alkofer with a solid left hand. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bashor landing some decent shots from guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alkofer keeping moving, preventing Bashor from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Alkofer dominated that round. That's time! Bashor's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Alkofer scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Alkofer connects with a nice short shot to Bashor's temple. Bashor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Alkofer trying to mount his opponent but Bashor defends it. Bashor is staying active underneath Alkofer, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Bashor is doing well to control the position and prevent Alkofer from advancing to side control. Alkofer missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Alkofer is trying to control the action in half guard but Bashor is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Alkofer works his way into full mount! Bashor is squirming around, avoiding Alkofer's attempts to control the action.

Alkofer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bashor is looking to escape. Alkofer working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Alkofer misses with a head shot. Alkofer wants to control the pace but Bashor is squirming around nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bashor has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Alkofer's lack of action.

Bashor avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Alkofer throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Bashor trying to control the position.
Alkofer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bashor loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Alkofer scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Bashor land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Bashor stands and salutes the crowd.
