Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Darell Deleon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Pettis's choice of entrance music: Pananagutan-Gary Valenciano. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Darell Deleon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Anthony Pettis! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deleon shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pettis eats them both and turns towards Deleon to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Pettis throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Darell Deleon has been cut. Deleon has a takedown stuffed. Pettis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Deleon. Pettis throws a front kick that sends Deleon stumbling back into the cage. Deleon has taken the fight to the clinch.
Deleon will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Pettis up against the cage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Deleon misses with a short punch on the inside. Pettis tries to land knees in the clinch but Deleon avoids the damage to the body. Pettis tries to pull guard but Deleon forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Deleon has Pettis pressed against the cage, preventing Pettis from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Deleon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Deleon avoids the head kick by Pettis.
Deleon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Deleon wants it to stay on the feet. Pettis misses with a series of wild punches.
Deleon shoots in for a double leg but Pettis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Pettis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Deleon defends it nicely. Darell Deleon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Pettis. Pettis avoids the head kick by Deleon.

Pettis is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Pettis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Deleon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pettis has managed to get both his arms back between Deleon's legs - danger averted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Deleon wants to stand and escape but Pettis is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deleon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Pettis throwing strikes but missing. Pettis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Deleon is breathing heavily. Pettis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Pettis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pettis postures up.
Deleon preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Pettis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Deleon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pettis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Can Pettis avoid being mounted? Deleon controlling the action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pettis trying to control here.

Anthony Pettis dominated that round. The cut man is working on Darell Deleon's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Pettis darts in and clinches Deleon up against the cage. Deleon wants a takedown.

Pettis is trying to push Deleon away but Deleon has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Deleon has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pettis uses from the top position. Deleon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pettis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pettis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pettis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Pettis lands a couple of elbows. Deleon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pettis throws an elbow that misses. Deleon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pettis's guard. Nice move by Deleon! Deleon trying to control but Pettis is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pettis is trying to control the position but Deleon postures up. Pettis working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Deleon has passed into half guard!
Deleon prevents Pettis from improving his position. Deleon wants to take a breather but Pettis is having none of it. Pettis is looking to escape. Pettis trying to control here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pettis tries a head kick but it misses.
Pettis is breathing heavily. Deleon pushes Pettis up against the cage in a clinch. Deleon manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Deleon is on top in guard.

Pettis wants to stand but Deleon is controlling the position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Deleon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Deleon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darell Deleon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pettis misses with the combination.

Pettis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Deleon. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. He's got his arms around Pettis's waist but Pettis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Deleon off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darell Deleon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pettis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Deleon tries for a takedown but Pettis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nice sprawl there from Deleon as Pettis shoots in. Deleon rushes Pettis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Pettis wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Deleon has him pressed against the cage. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pettis drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Deleon eats them both and turns towards Pettis to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Deleon is defended easily by Pettis. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pettis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Darell Deleon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Deleon tries to bum rush Pettis with a series of wild strikes but Pettis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Darell Deleon. I think Pettis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by majority decision... Anthony Pettis! A very excited looking Anthony Pettis rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
