Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kaleo Makua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Philips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kaleo Makua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Trevor Philips!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Philips scores with a sloppy right hand. Makua should have avoided that one.

Makua manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Philips on his heels. He'll look to pass Philips's guard now, I'm sure.
Makua has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Philips escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Makua gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Philips tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Philips is adopting a defensive guard.
Philips keeping moving, preventing Makua from controlling successfully.
Makua slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Kaleo Makua has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Makua clinches up with Philips and pushes him back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Makua drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Philips looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Makua is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Philips lands a shot to the body.
Makua drops down looking for an ankle pick but Philips pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kaleo Makua. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Philips fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Philips, as that shot connected.

It looks like Kaleo Makua has been cut.
Makua has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Makua there as he acknowledges the shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Philips jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Makua takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Trevor Philips is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Makua is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Philips will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Makua seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Philips shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Makua is backing up but Philips catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Makua covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Philips Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Trevor Philips!
Kaleo Makua was interviewed post fight and said 'THANKS TO MY LORD JAH ALL THANKS AND PRAISES GO OUT TO HIM ALL DAY EVERYDAY.'.
