Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Solomon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karoly Kovacs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Solomon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karoly Kovacs! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kovacs fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Solomon to the ground. Kovacs is now in Solomon's guard. Solomon pulls Kovacs in close to his closed guard and prevents Kovacs from doing any damage or advancing position. Kovacs engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Kovacs slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Kovacs stands up. A momentary lapse in concentration from Solomon enables Kovacs to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Solomon manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kovacs showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Solomon has his hands on Kovacs's head, controlling the position. Solomon keeping moving, preventing Kovacs from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Solomon has Kovacs pulled in close to control his posture.
Phil Solomon has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Solomon circles away from the clinch attempt.

Kovacs looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Solomon! Kovacs slows the pace down. Solomon is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Solomon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kovacs decides to stand back up. Kovacs drives through with a takedown into Solomon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Kovacs stays in close to Solomon's body and controls the position. Kovacs throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Solomon works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Solomon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kovacs trying to control the position from guard on top but Solomon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Karoly Kovacs was stalling too much, according to the referee. Solomon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kovacs's guard. Kovacs working a defensive guard here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kovacs is looking for a triangle but Solomon pushes his legs off easily.
Kovacs looks winded! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Solomon stands up and waves to Kovacs to follow him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Karoly Kovacs dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Solomon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Kovacs throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kovacs is looking to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kovacs fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Solomon to the ground. Kovacs is now in Solomon's guard. Karoly Kovacs has got the better of the ground game so far. Solomon wants to sweep but no luck. Kovacs stays in close to Solomon's body and controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kovacs drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Solomon dives on top into guard. Solomon postures up in Kovacs's guard and throws a big left but Kovacs blocks it. Solomon postures up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Solomon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Solomon stopping the sweep attempt from Kovacs. Kovacs is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kovacs wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Karoly Kovacs. Kovacs gets a takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kovacs is breathing heavily. Kovacs throwing shots but Solomon is blocking nicely. Kovacs is looking to take a break and control but Solomon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kovacs might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Solomon haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kovacs looking for a submission but Solomon manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

Karoly Kovacs has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Kovacs closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Solomon wants to get back to full guard. Kovacs is keen to just control but Solomon is a slippery customer. Kovacs wants to advance to full mount but Solomon doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Kovacs wanted to stand there but Solomon had control of the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Solomon managing to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Karoly Kovacs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Kovacs shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Solomon is trying to defend but Kovacs finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Solomon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kovacs is working away from the top position though. Kovacs wants to control but Solomon is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Solomon keeps control of the position for the meantime. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Phil Solomon. Solomon blocks a head kick by Kovacs.
Solomon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kovacs swivels and escapes. Solomon moves into range and clinches up with Kovacs. Solomon breaks from the clinch.
Solomon gets caught flat footed, as Kovacs shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Solomon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kovacs is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Kovacs trying to control the position from guard on top but Solomon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kovacs throws an elbow that misses. Solomon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kovacs's guard. Nice move by Solomon! Kovacs controlling Solomon's posture. Kovacs takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kovacs looking for a guillotine here but Solomon defends easily.
Kovacs is trying to hold Solomon in close to prevent damage but Solomon has managed to pass into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kovacs wants to control but Solomon is keeping busy.
Solomon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Solomon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Solomon is thwarting Kovacs's attempts to control the position. Solomon missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Phil Solomon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Karoly Kovacs is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Kovacs is looking to control Solomon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kovacs avoid being mounted?
