The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ra scores with a nice body kick.

Ra rushes Patton and presses him up against the cage.

and Patton makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Patton ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ra moves away.

and Ra holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Patton blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Patton tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Ra unloads a knee to the mid-section. Patton lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Ra creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Ra is trying to force a seperation but Patton has the dominant position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
With the fighters up against the cage, Ra throws an elbow but misses.
Ra tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Patton avoids it.
Ra tries to land knees in the clinch but Patton avoids the damage to the body.
Patton goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Patton's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

A close round but Sun Ra will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ra tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Patton manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ra tries a low kick but Patton avoids it.
Ra throws a leg kick but Patton sees it coming and moves out of range.
Patton misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ra throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Patton sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Ra lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Patton circles away quickly and effectively.

Patton throws a leg kick but Ra sees it coming and moves out of range.
Ra jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Ra turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ra. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Ra throws the left hand but Patton avoids the punch easily.
Ra misses with a straight left.
Ra takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ra has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Patton.
Patton stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ra throws out a loose jab but Patton uses good head movement to avoid it.
Patton takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Michael Patton is winning the standup battle so far.
Patton misses with a kick to the body
and Ra counters with a body kick that stops Patton in his tracks momentarily.
Ra on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Patton throws a sloppy head kick and Ra moves out of range easily.
Patton goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Patton lands a glancing blow to the side of Ra's head.
Ra fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Patton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Patton slips a jab from Ra.
Ra takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Ra has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Patton.
Ra uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Patton.

Patton pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Patton cracks the inside of Ra's front leg.
Ra does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A big right from Patton misses.
Patton throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ra stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ra wants to slow Patton down by chopping away at his legs.
A slow jab from Patton misses its intended target.
A bone on bone clash there as Ra blocks the leg kick.
Patton throws a hook but Ra avoids it easily.
Ra takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Ra moves out of range of the body kick from Patton.
Ra walks into a left hand.
Ra checks a low kick from Patton.
Ra checks a low kick from Patton.
Ra throws a lazy head kick
and Patton counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Patton lands a head kick!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Patton loads up on a big right hand but Ra slips the punch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ra throws a front kick that sends Patton stumbling back into the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Patton dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Patton throws an overhand right that drops Ra like a sack of potatoes! Patton dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
