Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Cutler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Swofford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Cutler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Swofford!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cutler circles away from the clinch attempt.

Cutler rushes Swofford and presses him up against the cage.
Cutler manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Swofford using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cutler has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Swofford blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Swofford is trying to force a seperation but Cutler has the dominant position.
Swofford blocks an elbow strike.
Cutler prevents Swofford from breaking the clinch.
Cutler stalling against the cage.
Swofford tries to pull guard but Cutler holds him up against the cage and eventually Swofford drops back down to his feet.
Swofford blocks an elbow strike from Cutler.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cutler stalls.

Cutler is trying to trip Swofford. He has hold of a leg but Swofford is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cutler persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Cutler trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Swofford manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Cutler looking for a sweep. Not yet Cutler, not yet.
Swofford wants to control from the top but Cutler keeps moving.
Swofford might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cutler haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Cutler is looking to stand up but Swofford isn't so interested in that idea.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tony Swofford was stalling too much, according to the referee.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Swofford enables Cutler to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Swofford manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cutler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Swofford with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Swofford is not content to let Cutler control the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Swofford trying to control but Cutler postures up.
Swofford is looking to escape.
Swofford is looking to control Cutler's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Swofford avoid being mounted?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Swofford has hold of Cutler's hands but Cutler slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Swofford looks like he's trying to stand up.
Cutler drops an elbow to the side of Swofford's head.
Cutler tries to pass the half guard into mount. Swofford knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cutler throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Cutler trying to mount his opponent but Swofford defends it.
Swofford tries to kick Cutler off but Cutler keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Cutler dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Cutler darts in and clinches Swofford up against the cage.
Cutler tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Swofford avoids it.
Swofford's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!


Swofford is rocked!
Cutler scores a nice knee to the body.
Swofford is still on wobbly legs! Can Cutler finish him?
Cutler landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Swofford takes an elbow to the forehead.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Cutler obliges.
Cutler lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Swofford to his knees! Cutler keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay Cutler!
