Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Drew Pugh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Landon Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Landon Nash has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Drew Pugh's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Drew Pugh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Landon Nash!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nash lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Nash looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Pugh could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Pugh trying to control but Nash postures up.
Nash seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pugh does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Pugh is trying to control but can't.
Nash sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Pugh defending well though.
Pugh is staying active underneath Nash, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Landon Nash was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Nash moves into range and clinches up with Pugh.

Pugh breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Nash throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pugh tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Nash is in Pugh's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nash wants to get up but he can't break Pugh's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nash gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Nash darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Nash throws a strike but Pugh avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Nash decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pugh, up you get!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Nash shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pugh manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Nash wanted to stand there but Pugh had control of the position.

Nash is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pugh is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pugh has escaped and now he's on top!
Pugh might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pugh working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Nash's head.

Nash has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pugh can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nash manages to escape and get back to his feet.

and Pugh counters with a shoot takedown. Nash fights it but they end up in guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pugh connects with a couple of short punches.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Pugh moves in looking to clinch but Nash pushes him off.

Pugh misses with an attempted mid kick.
Pugh avoids the head kick by Nash.

Nash shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pugh napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Pugh wants to control but Nash postures up.
Pugh regains half guard, as Nash was trying to land strikes.
Nash wants to advance to full mount but Pugh doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Pugh is working an open guard so Nash takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Nash drives through with a takedown into Pugh's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Landon Nash comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nash has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
