The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitehead's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mauras connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Whitehead scrambles back to his feet.
It looks like Wilton Whitehead has been cut.
Whitehead drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Whitehead drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Whitehead jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Whitehead gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Mauras scores with a decent looking hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
