Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between A Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Smit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, A Evans! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Smit! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Evans shoots in but no luck this time. Evans misses with an uppercut. Smit saw that one coming. Smit darts in and clinches Evans up against the cage. Evans wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Smit looking to throw knees to the head but Evans is blocking nicely.
Smit lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like A Evans has been cut. Evans wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Smit prevents Evans from breaking the clinch. Evans tries to score a body lock takedown but Smit shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Evans gets a trip takedown into half guard. Evans prevents Smit from improving his position. Evans not doing much here.
Smit is in trouble now - Evans has advanced to mount! Smit is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans moves to the back position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smit trying to control but not successfully. Smit should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. A bit of a pause in the action here. Evans controlling the positon. Smit is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Evans gets his way!
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Smit's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Evans patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Evans is breathing heavily. Evans is not going to allow Smit to sit and survive in this position. Evans has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Evans looking for the choke from the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smit tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Smit working to try and regain half guard.
Smit is trying to get back to his feet but can't. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Smit wants to control but Evans is having none of it. Smit is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Smit tries to lock up and control but Evans gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Evans is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Smit can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Smit wants to hold on but Evans pushes him away. Smit tries to reverse the position but Evans maintains control. Evans looking to control but Smit is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Smit tries to lock up and control but Evans gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Evans tries to push Smit's head away but Smit is holding on tight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smit wants to control but Evans is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A Evans dominated that round. The cut man is working on A Evans's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Evans takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Evans takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Smit tries to close the distance and clinch but Evans swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Smit misses with a takedown attempt and Evans counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Smit really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Evans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Smit is looking to control Evans's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Smit avoid being mounted? Evans wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smit keeps working. Evans is thwarting Smit's attempts to control the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Smit pushes Evans off looking to stand but Evans dives back in and keeps control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Smit trying to get back to full guard but Evans takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Evans looking to isolate an arm here. Smit doesn't see it coming and as Evans extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Evans!
