Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 2, fighting out of New York, Stacey Rush! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luis Garcia! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jorge Garcia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rush blocks a leg kick. Luis Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rush takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Stacey Rush has been cut. A jab from Garcia misses. Rush misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Rush lands with a kick to the ribs.
Rush tries for a takedown but Garcia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Rush dodges the punch combination from Garcia.
Garcia throws the left hand but Rush avoids the punch easily. Garcia throws a head kick that misses and Rush counters with a nice body kick. Garcia thows a leg kick but Rush checks it and Rush counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Garcia looks to throw the jab but Rush is out of range. Garcia lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A lazy body kick from Garcia and Rush counters by moving into the clinch. Rush can't break the clinch.
Garcia misses with a punch on the inside.
Garcia tries to throw a body punch but Rush avoids it by throwing Garcia back against the cage. Rush is looking to break free of the clinch but Garcia has double underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rush pressing his opponent against the cage. Garcia lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Garcia struggles to land a body shot inside as Rush controls his hands.
Rush manages to pull guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Rush had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Garcia defends it easily. Garcia has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rush is proving hard to escape from. Garcia must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Garcia avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rush is controlling Garcia's posture. Rush looking to control.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Rush manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Rush is looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stacey Rush. That's going to take a lot out of him. Garcia tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rush's elbow. Garcia taking a breather. Rush pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Garcia fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Garcia ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rush moves away. Garcia pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rush back to the cage. Garcia follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Garcia looks winded!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia misses with a double jab.

Luis Garcia is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rush connects with a good right hand that stumbles Garcia. Garcia circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Rush clinches up against the cage. Rush escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Garcia takes a kick to the side of the head. Rush tries to clinch up. The fight stays on the outside here - Rush looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Rush wants to clinch up but Garcia keeps it at a distance. Garcia swings widly with a right hand
and Rush counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rush. Garcia prevents the takedown attempt.
Garcia tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Garcia misses with a hook to the ribs.
Rush lands on the inside with an uppercut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Garcia has a couple of punches blocked by Rush.

Rush pulls guard. Rush bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Garcia's guard. Rush is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Garcia is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rush passes Garcia's left leg - he's now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Stacey Rush will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Stacey Rush's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
A jab from Garcia finds it's way through Rush's defenses. Garcia fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rush looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Garcia lands a left and a right that send Rush crashing to the mat, dazed. Garcia thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Rush is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Garcia rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rush counters with a three punch combo that has Garcia backing up. Garcia nods at Rush to acknowledge the strikes. Oh Rush is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Garcia moves in close and cracks Rush with a massive right hand! Rush, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Garcia!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Luis Garcia! Our winner, Luis Garcia, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
