Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Benito Hooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Sugden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sugden has chosen I'm shipping up to Boston as his entrance music. Chad Sugden has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chad Sugden!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sugden wants to clinch

and Hooper holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Sugden tries a knee to the head but Hooper blocks it.

Hooper knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sugden on the ground.

and Hooper holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Sugden with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Hooper really is a fat lump.
Sugden throws an elbow but it misses.
Sugden lands an elbow inside that Hooper shrugs off.


It looks like Benito Hooper has been cut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sugden tries to work over Hooper's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Hooper gets through Sugden's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Hooper jumps guard but Sugden stands there with Hooper around his waist. Hooper gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sugden looking to sit in guard and control but Hooper gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hooper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sugden swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hooper will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sugden wants to clinch

Hooper jumps guard but Sugden stands there with Hooper around his waist. Hooper gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hooper is breathing heavily.
Sugden is trying to break free.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sugden.
Sugden gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hooper.
Sugden can't find room to land a body shot as Hooper controls the action.

Sugden swings wildly with an uppercut but Hooper uses good head movement to avoid it.

Hooper's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Sugden lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hooper backwards.

Hooper gets control of Sugden's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hooper will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Sugden has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hooper is proving hard to escape from.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hooper is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Sugden presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Hooper closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Sugden is trying to stand up here but Hooper is controlling him well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Chad Sugden decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
