Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Malcolm Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Carruthers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carruthers has chosen Tsunami as his entrance music. Jimmy Carruthers has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Malcolm Ford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Carruthers! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carruthers tries to keep at a distance but Ford has taken the fight into the clinch. Carruthers stalling against the cage.
Carruthers scores with a hook to the body. Carruthers jumps guard and drags Ford to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Carruthers trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Ford might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ford sitting in guard here, content to control. Carruthers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ford controls from within his opponent's guard. Ford stands up over Carruthers, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Ford slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Carruthers wants to stand up but Ford is controlling him. Carruthers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ford got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carruthers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ford has managed to get both his arms back between Carruthers's legs - danger averted. Carruthers is trying to control the position but Ford postures up. Ford cracks Carruthers with a solid left hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ford wants to control from the top but Carruthers keeps moving. Ford works over Carruthers with some ground and pound from guard. Ford is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Carruthers wants to get back to his feet but Ford is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ford makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Ford is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Ford has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Malcolm Ford has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Ford moves into the clinch. Carruthers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Carruthers closes the distance and clinches. Carruthers has picked Ford up - he's going for a ride! Carruthers dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ford has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Carruthers. Oh but Ford has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Carruthers goes limp - he's gone! Ford jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
