Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Austin Worner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Bedford! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Worner tries to clinch but Bedford moves out of range. Bedford dives in and scores a takedown into Worner's guard. Bedford wants to stand but Worner is controlling his posture from full guard. Worner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bedford can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Worner wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Worner is trying to keep Bedford in close.
Worner wants to stand up but Bedford is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Worner keeping full guard, as Bedford tries to pass. Bedford trying to control the position from guard on top but Worner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Worner is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Bedford really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Worner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bedford is doing well to control the position and prevent Worner from advancing to side control. Bedford is looking to control Worner's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bedford avoid being mounted? Worner seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Bedford is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
