The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ballardo gets cracked there but stands up to it.

It looks like Vassago Ballardo has been cut.
Cunningham throws a low kick but Ballardo avoids it.
Cunningham throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ballardo scores with a punch to the head.
Cunningham chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ballardo can pounce on him.
Ballardo lands with a straight right. Cunningham didn't see that one coming.

Vassago Ballardo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cunningham shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ballardo sprawls well. Ballardo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cunningham gets slowly back to his feet.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ballardo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cunningham - the referee stops the clock and Ballardo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cunningham. Ballardo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Ballardo goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Ballardo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cunningham was well out of range. Poor timing from Ballardo.
Ballardo throws a chopping leg kick but Cunningham manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Ballardo feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cunninghams jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Cunningham tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Ballardo pushes off an throws an elbow but Cunningham leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Cunningham throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Ballardo blocks it with crossed arms.

Cunningham is trying to push Ballardo away but Ballardo has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Ballardo pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Cunningham lands a nice shot that snaps Ballardo's head back.

Cunningham takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Cunningham.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd cheers as Cunningham lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ballardo doesn't seem phased though.

Cunningham cracks Ballardo with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!

After the fight, Randall Cunningham was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
