Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joe Blow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owen Sleater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Blow could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Owen Sleater's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Blow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Owen Sleater!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sleater scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Sleater looks to land a combination but Blow avoids it well.
Blow doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sleater counters with a series of strikes. Blow will be more careful next time no doubt.
Blow fails with the takedown
and Sleater cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Sleater forces Blow back against the cage and clinches.

Blow breaks the clinch.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Blow crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Sleater - the referee stops the clock and Blow gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Sleater. Blow manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Sleater connects with a high kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Blow misses with a takedown
and Sleater counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Oh Blow is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

A slapping leg kick lands for Sleater.
Blow seems to have got his legs back now.

Sleater connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Blow to the floor! Sleater dives in looking for the finish!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Owen Sleater hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Sleater throws a nice looking combination but Blow bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sleater throws a series of punches but Blow avoids them all with ease.
Blow looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Joe Blow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Blow shoots in but Sleater avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Blow shoots in looking for a takedown but Sleater manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Blow's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Sleater throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Blow.

Sleater's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Sleater makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Blow really felt that one!

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Blow. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

and Sleater counters with a nice double leg into side control. Blow won't be happy with that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sleater lands a decent elbow from side control.
Sleater tries to move into full mount but can't pass Blow's legs.
Blow tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sleater wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Sleater decides to stand up, so the ref orders Blow to his feet.

Sleater lunges at Blow with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Blow's hand.

Sleater sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Blow to the ground! Sleater dives into full mount looking to finish!

Blow is trying to reverse the position but instead Sleater has taken his back - oops!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owen Sleater dominated that round.
That's time! Blow's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Blow fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sleater avoids it really well and circles away.
Blow gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Sleater finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Blow walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Sleater lands a head kick that stumbles Blow and the fighters go to the mat.

Blow wants to control but Sleater passes easily into half guard.
Sleater is nestled in close to Blow, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Blow wants to improve his position but Sleater is controlling well.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Sleater is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Owen Sleater wasn't active enough on the ground.
Blow shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sleater as he avoids it easily.

A big head kick from Sleater and Blow is sent sprawling to the canvas!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Blow throws his legs up looking for a submission but Sleater uses it to pass to side control.
Sleater takes a little break here. Blow wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Sleater is trying to get an arm triangle but Blow is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Check out the look on Sleater's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Sleater is staying tight to Blow's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Sleater has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A control attempt from Blow but he's now mounted!
Blow has given up his back here.

Blow is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Sleater is looking for a rear naked choke here but Blow reverses the position brilliantly into Sleater's guard!

Blow avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sleater is adopting a defensive guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owen Sleater showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Sleater lands a really nice looking cross but Blow seems unphased.
Sleater lands a brutal head kick. Blow looks out on his feet and Sleater throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
