Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Claudio Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Fixing a Broken Heart-A1 as his entrance music. Jon Jones told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Claudio Vaughn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Jones! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones wants to clinch. Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones looks to clinch and Vaughn counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vaughn's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Vaughn makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Vaughn lands a couple of digs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vaughn is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him. Vaughn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vaughn scoring with some ground and pound. Vaughn makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Vaughn scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vaughn defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vaughn is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Vaughn working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jones's head. Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jones wants to sweep here but Vaughn controlling him for the moment. Vaughn is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth. Vaughn is in close to Jones's body, working some short punches and elbows. Vaughn content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Vaughn wants to stand but Jones has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Vaughn lands a couple of elbows. Vaughn postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vaughn content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jones will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Vaughn works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard. Jones tries to strike from the bottom.
Vaughn is in close to Jones's body, working some short punches and elbows. Jones looks winded! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Vaughn scoring with some ground and pound. Vaughn gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vaughn napping and manages to drive through into side control! Vaughn manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Vaughn looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Vaughn is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is thwarting Vaughn's attempts to control the position. Vaughn regains full guard. Nicely done. Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Vaughn striking from the bottom here. Vaughn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily. Vaughn is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Jones would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vaughn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vaughn has his feet on Jones's thighs here. He's pushed Jones off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Jones screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
