Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rey Jericho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amir Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jericho comes to the cage accompanied by AR-Swift: Awesome God . Amir Khan is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rey Jericho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Amir Khan!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jericho fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Khan lands a nice looking body shot.
Jericho rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Khan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jericho misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jericho is defended easily by Khan.
Khan has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rey Jericho. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Khan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jericho sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Khan somewhat.
Jericho misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jericho throws an overhand right that lands on Khan's shoulder, as Khan tries to avoid the shot.
Khan looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Khan throws a push kick but Jericho slaps the foot to one side.

Khan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jericho.
Jericho tries to clinch up but Khan circles away and keeps his distance.
Khan goes for a double leg but Jericho avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jericho continues to drive forward.
Jericho has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Khan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Khan lands a shoulder strike.
Khan goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Jericho is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Khan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Jericho wants the takedown. Khan is fighting it off but Jericho persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Khan's guard against the cage.
Khan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jericho is controlling him.
Jericho trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Jericho tries to free his leg and advance position but Khan is retaining full guard.

Khan is looking to stand up but Jericho isn't so interested in that idea.
Jericho has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jericho in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Khan managing to control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Khan wants to stand but Jericho is controlling the position.
Khan is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Amir Khan wasn't active enough on the ground.
Jericho shoots in looking for a takedown but Khan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jericho's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Khan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Jericho wants to control but Khan postures up.
Jericho is not content to let Khan control the position.
Jericho avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Khan.
Jericho is looking to reverse the position.

Khan decides to stand back up.
Jericho takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Khan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jericho.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Khan jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Jericho fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Khan throws a nice inside leg kick.
Khan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jericho tries to avoid it but Khan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jericho to the ground. Jericho escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jericho closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jericho stops Khan from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jericho not landing any meaningful shots this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Khan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jericho is working away from the top position though.
Khan keeping hold of Jericho's head, controlling as best he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Amir Khan will probably get the nod.
That's time! Jericho's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Jericho shoots in but Khan avoids the takedown attempt easily.

A slow jab from Khan misses its intended target.
Jericho will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Jericho takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jericho shoots in looking for a takedown. Khan tries to sprawl out of it but Jericho keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Khan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice takedown defense from Khan. No joy for Jericho on that attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jericho misses with a takedown attempt - Khan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Amir Khan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Khan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jericho looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Khan lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jericho backs up against the cage.

Khan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jericho sprawls well. Jericho wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Khan gets slowly back to his feet.

Khan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jericho swivels and escapes.
Amir Khan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Khan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Khan shoots in for a takedown but Jericho shows good takedown defense.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Khan.

Khan throws a nice looking combination but Jericho bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Khan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Khan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Khan misses with a wild body shot.
Khan throws a jab when Jericho was well out of range.

Jericho fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Khan to the ground. Jericho is now in Khan's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jericho won't allow Khan to get back to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jericho accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Khan scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Jericho shoots in for a takedown but Khan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Amir Khan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Jericho managing to control the position.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Jericho is really struggling to control Khan but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rey Jericho wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Khan throws a hook but Jericho avoids it easily.

Khan shoots in and gets a takedown into Jericho's guard.
Jericho trying to keep a closed guard but Khan is proving a slippery customer.
Khan trying to control the position from guard on top but Jericho is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jericho not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jericho wants to get back to his feet but Khan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jericho looks to clinch
and Khan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jericho thinking.
Jericho fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Khan avoids it really well and circles away.
Jericho on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Jericho tries for a takedown but Khan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jericho shoots in but no luck this time.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Khan darts in looking for a takedown but Jericho gets double underhooks and turns Khan into the cage.

Jericho is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Rey Jericho has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Khan stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Jericho is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Khan pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Khan scores with a nice hook to the head.
Khan swings wildly with an uppercut but Jericho uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jericho is trying to drag Khan to the mat but Khan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Khan misses with a hook to the ribs.
Jericho's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Jericho blocks an uppercut.
Khan wants to stall.
Khan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jericho takes a shot to the head.
A left hand lands to the body for Khan.
Khan lands a hook that snaps the head of Jericho backwards.
Khan tries to work over Jericho's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Amir Khan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Jericho wants to break free but Khan has control.
Jericho is looking for a takedown.
Jericho drops down looking for an ankle pick but Khan pulls his leg out and moves away.
Khan misses with the combination.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Amir Khan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Khan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
