Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zeke Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zeke Powers will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Rashad Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zeke Powers!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers throws a low kick but it's checked well by Evans.
Powers misses with a body kick.
Zeke Powers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Powers throws a leg kick but Evans checks it.
Evans misses with a double jab.
Powers feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Evans's calf.
Powers throws a low kick, looking for Evans's leg but Evans calmly moves out of range.
Evans sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Powers thuds his shin into the meat of Evans's side.
Evans is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Powers jabs Evans to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Powers has Evans up against the cage in a clinch.

Powers manages to pull guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Evans stopping the sweep attempt from Powers.
Powers tries to strike from the bottom.

Powers is looking for a triangle but Evans pushes his legs off easily.

Evans is fighting to break Powers's control of his arms but Powers is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Powers is trying to keep Evans in close.

Powers thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Powers scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Evans is not content to let Powers control the position.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Evans might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Powers lands with a punch from half guard.
Evans knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Powers on the ground.
Powers lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Powers looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Evans with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Evans misses with a double jab.

Powers feints and as Evans raises his hands in defense, Powers changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Powers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Powers trying to control the position from guard on top but Evans is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Powers throws a big right hand that misses.
Evans preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Powers lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Powers has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Powers connects with a nice short shot to Evans's temple.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Powers looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Powers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Evans keeps working.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Powers is nestled in close to Evans, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Powers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Evans keeps working.

Powers thows a huge punch but Evans dodges it nicely.
Powers has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Powers thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Evans's head.
Powers is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Evans on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Evans tries to get out of the position.

Powers's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Powers seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Powers is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Powers is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Evans keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Powers in particular looking to stall.

Zeke Powers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Evans has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Powers.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Powers.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Powers lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Evans seems to have got his legs back now.
Evans steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Powers. That one must have hurt.

Powers drives through and clinches with Evans against the cage.
Evans takes a knee to the side of the body.

Powers gets control of Evans's arms and successfully pulls guard. Powers will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Powers scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Powers sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Evans's defenses. It connects perfectly with Evans's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Zeke Powers!
