PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Mullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mullen comes to the cage accompanied by Country Boy Can Survive. The crowd seem to be enjoying Moore's choice of entrance music: Frank Klepacki - March to doom. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 45 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Chris Mullen!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 3, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bobby Moore!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moore slips under a jab.
Moore avoids the body shot from Mullen.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Moore has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Moore thows a body shot but no joy.
Mullen swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Moore counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Moore wants to control but Mullen is keeping him busy.
Mullen tries to buck Moore off but Moore is having none of it.
Moore looks up at the clock and then as Mullen takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Moore smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Mullen looks to move to half guard but instead Moore has passed into mount! Damn!
Moore with shots to the head and body - Mullen looks very uncomfortable down there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mullen is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Mullen tries to reverse the position but Moore maintains control.
Moore lands a nice shot to the head.
Moore tries to control but Mullen wriggling away.

Mullen tries to lock up and control but Moore gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mullen regains half guard.
Mullen works his way to full guard. Good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mullen wants to sweep here but Moore controlling him for the moment.
Moore wants to pass the guard but Mullen is keeping the position.
Moore postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Moore connects with a couple of short punches.
Mullen wants to sweep but no luck.
Moore throws a big right hand that misses.
Mullen is striking off his back. Moore thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Mullen is trying to get back to full guard.

Moore wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mullen keeps working.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mullen is looking to improve his position.
Mullen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Moore's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Moore's back!
Mullen tries to get the hooks in deep but Moore pushed the leg off.
Moore is really stuck here.
Moore is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Mullen.

Moore is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Moore is looking to improve his position but Mullen isn't that keen on the idea.
Moore is squirming around, avoiding Mullen's attempts to control the action.

Mullen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Moore is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mullen controlling the position easily from mount.
Moore tries to lock up and control but Mullen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

A close round but Bobby Moore will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Chris Mullen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Moore manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mullen on his heels. He'll look to pass Mullen's guard now, I'm sure.

Mullen pivots, looking for a leg kick but Moore is out of range and Mullen settles back down.

Mullen uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Mullen scores with the left hand. Moore knows he should have avoided that one.
Mullen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Mullen throws a low kick but Moore moves out of range easily.
Mullen misses with a double jab
and Moore cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The fighters circling - Mullen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Donk. Moore catches Mullen right on the button with a cross.
Moore scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Mullen throws a shot from downtown. Moore moves away and avoids it.

Mullen throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Moore misses with a kick to the body.
Mullen swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Moore counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mullen won't be happy with that.
Mullen is not content to let Moore control the position.

Mullen tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Moore presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Mullen takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Mullen is bucking up trying to escape but Moore cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Mullen sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Mullen wants to improve his position but Moore is controlling well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Moore seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mullen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bobby Moore has got the better of the ground game so far.
Moore perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Moore is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Bobby Moore showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mullen takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Moore lands a leg kick that knocks Mullen off balance momentarily.
Both fighters circling a little - Moore finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Mullen throws a half hearted mid kick.
Moore thuds his right hand into Mullen's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Moore avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Mullen lands a nice looking body kick.
Mullen throws an off balance right hand
and Moore connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mullen throws a leg kick but Moore sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Donk. Mullen catches Moore right on the button with a cross.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Moore.
Moore lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Moore avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A shot to the liver by Mullen. Beautiful body shot.
Mullen sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mullen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Moore.
A looping hook to the body misses from Moore. Mullen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Moore scores with a kick to the body.
Bobby Moore seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Moore.
Moore sizes up Mullen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Moore avoids the head kick by Mullen.
Moore blocks a leg kick.
Moore throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mullen.
Oh Mullen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Moore scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Mullen walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Moore checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Chris Mullen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Moore lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
A jab from Mullen misses.
Moore is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Mullen hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Bobby Moore!

Bobby Moore made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Got you, you piece of SHIT.'.
