Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Obasi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Blackman!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Obasi prevents a body shot from Blackman.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Obasi.
Obasi unloads a knee to the mid-section. Blackman lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Obasi landing knees to the head.
Obasi lands a nice uppercut.
Blackman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Blackman being controlled against the cage.
Blackman tries to circle away but Obasi has him pinned against the cage.
Obasi misses with a knee strike.
Obasi unloads a knee to the mid-section. Blackman lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Blackman drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Obasi gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Blackman looking to stall.

Blackman is looking for a takedown.
Obasi has Blackman pressed against the cage, preventing Blackman from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Blackman has Obasi pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Obasi manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
John Obasi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Blackman.
Obasi lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Frank Blackman has been cut.
Obasi unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Blackman looks winded!
Still in the clinch, Obasi scores with a nice short uppercut.
Blackman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Obasi just stands there and leans against the cage.
Obasi creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Blackman's defenses.
Blackman is trying to stall.
Blackman goes for a takedown in the clinch but Obasi prevents it.
Obasi putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Blackman in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Obasi is struggling to control the position.

Blackman has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Obasi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Obasi slows down the pace here.

Blackman is trying to break free.

Blackman takes a knee to the side of the body.
Blackman tries to score a body lock takedown but Obasi shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Obasi lands a right hand that snaps the head of Blackman backwards.
Obasi stalling.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by John Obasi.
Obasi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
John Obasi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Obasi scores with a crisp jab that stopped Blackman in his tracks.


Blackman is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Blackman is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Obasi moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Obasi!
