Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Silas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Ricard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricard has chosen Dust in the Wind by Kansas as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrei Silas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Ricard!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ricard clinches up against the cage.
Silas looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Ricard stops a takedown attempt from Silas.
Silas is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Ricard landing knees to the body.
Ricard breaks from the clinch.
Ricard feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ricard gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Ricard rushes Silas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ricard has hold of one of Silas's legs. Silas is fighting the takedown attempt but Ricard gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Ricard passes into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ricard has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Silas tries to reverse the position but Ricard maintains control.

Ricard stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Ricard closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ricard lands in his opponent's guard.
Silas working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Ricard has passed into half guard!
Ricard is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Silas is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ricard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silas keeps working.
Silas tries to get to full guard but Ricard has control of the leg.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ricard forces Silas back against the cage and clinches.

Silas could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Silas wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ricard, who protects the arm well.
Silas is trying to ground and pound but Ricard uses the momentary lack of control by Silas to regain half guard.
Silas is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Silas is looking for a kimura here.
Silas thows a huge punch but Ricard dodges it nicely.
Ricard avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Silas.
Ricard gets back to full guard.
Ricard can't keep his opponent in guard - Silas advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ricard won't allow Silas to pass to mount.
Silas lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Silas moves into full mount! Ricard won't be happy about that!
Ricard is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Silas is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Silas has his takedown stuffed
and Ricard counters with a nice body kick.
Ricard decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ricard lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ricard is looking for a kimura but Silas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ricard to get the leverage.
Ricard stands up from half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Silas gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Silas has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Ricard has passed into side control.
Ricard wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Silas, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ricard is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Silas has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ricard misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Silas is trying to get back to half guard.
Ricard trying to control the action but Silas is working from the bottom.
Silas is looking for a sweep.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ricard wants to control but Silas is keeping him busy.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ricard is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Silas has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Silas is trying desperately to improve position.

Ricard with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Ricard content just to control the position here.
Ricard is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Silas can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Ricard wants to control the pace but Silas is squirming around nicely.

Ricard looking to control but Silas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Silas has left one of his arms exposed and Ricard doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Silas screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
