Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lazano De Anda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kareem Kiram (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kiram scores with a body shot.
De Anda fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lazano De Anda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kiram walks into a stiff left hand from De Anda.
De Anda takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kiram avoids the body shot from De Anda.
De Anda gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
De Anda is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kiram !

We've been hearing good reports from De Anda's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

De Anda takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

De Anda throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
De Anda has hold of Kiram 's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kiram manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
De Anda throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Kiram because De Anda loaded up on that one.

De Anda wants to control the pace but Kiram is squirming around nicely.

De Anda jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kiram manages to avoid the submission attempt.
De Anda is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kiram knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Kiram is trying to control De Anda's posture but De Anda avoids it.

De Anda throws an elbow but Kiram slips to the side and avoids it well.
De Anda has hold of Kiram 's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kiram seems comfortable defending it but De Anda has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kiram is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kiram is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but De Anda couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Lazano De Anda!
