Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Freeman Perry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott May!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
May throws a sloppy head kick and Perry moves out of range easily.
May closes this distance looking for a takedown but Perry circles away.
May slips under a jab.
Some wild striking there from May.
Perry shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Perry wants to clinch.

May feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Perry is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Perry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

May is looking to take a break and control but Perry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

May grinds an elbow into Perry's temple.

May really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perry. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
May wants to lay and pray for a moment but Perry keeps working.

Perry seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down May for as long as he can get away with.

We're going to have a standup here because Freeman Perry wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Perry shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says May as he avoids it easily.

Perry changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. May tries to avoid it but Perry manages to keep hold of a leg and drag May to the ground. May escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Perry counters with a series of strikes. May will be more careful next time no doubt.

May shoots in and gets a takedown into Perry's guard.
Perry wants to stand up but May is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
May looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
May wants to get up but he can't break Perry's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Perry is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and May defends well.
May throws a big elbow that misses.
May wants to stand and escape but instead Perry has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Perry leaves May with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

May tries to score with a low kick but Perry moves his leg out of the way.

May closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Perry shoots for a double leg takedown but May sprawls well. He's pushed Perry's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
May misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That was a close second round but I would say that Freeman Perry will probably get the nod.

Well Perry has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
