Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tendaji Afolayan! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia gets tackled into the cage by Afolayan. Afolayan maintains the clinch. Afolayan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Afolayan managing to block the knees to the body from Garcia.

Afolayan told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Garcia looking to control but Afolayan passes into half guard.
Garcia gets full guard. Afolayan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Afolayan wanted to stand there but Garcia had control of the position. Garcia wants to sweep but no luck. Afolayan wants to stand but Garcia has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Garcia looking for a sweep. Not yet Garcia, not yet. Afolayan tries to stand but Garcia is controlling from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcia pulls Afolayan in close to his closed guard and prevents Afolayan from doing any damage or advancing position. This has been an exciting period of action! Garcia looking to control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Afolayan avoids the body shot from Garcia.
Garcia looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Afolayan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Garcia moves away. Afolayan fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Garcia on the side of the head. Garcia clinches. Garcia keeps control of Afolayan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Garcia slowing the pace effectively. Garcia with an attempt at a knee that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia tries a knee to the head but Afolayan blocks it.

Garcia throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Afolayan blocks it with crossed arms. A bit of stalling here from Afolayan.
Afolayan tries to circle away but Garcia has him pinned against the cage. Afolayan tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Garcia avoids it. Afolayan breaks the clinch.
Garcia is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Afolayan. Afolayan swings for the body but Garcia moves out of range.

A frustrated look appears on Afolayan's face as he tries to break the clinch. Garcia fails to pull guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Afolayan avoiding damage as Garcia throws knees to the body.
Garcia tries to land knees in the clinch but Afolayan avoids the damage to the body. Garcia is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Afolayan is defending well for now. Afolayan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Garcia closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Afolayan gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Garcia tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Garcia is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Afolayan avoiding damage as Garcia throws knees to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A body shot lands from Afolayan.
Afolayan works on Garcia's body with a couple of short punches. Garcia with an attempt at a knee that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tendaji Afolayan will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Afolayan throws a leg kick but Garcia checks it. Afolayan throws a low kick but Garcia avoids it. Garcia slips a jab from Afolayan. Tendaji Afolayan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Garcia takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Afolayan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Garcia drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Garcia is trying to get an arm triangle but Afolayan is defending well. Afolayan is trying to get back to his feet but Garcia has full control of the position and if anything, Afolayan has just worked his way into a worse spot. Garcia working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Garcia is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Afolayan taps out!
