Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Sakuragi both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Khulet Malapitan has been cut.
Sakuragi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Malapitan moves away.

Sakuragi shoots in for a double leg but Malapitan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Malapitan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sakuragi manages to avoid it.
Sakuragi shoots in looking for a takedown but Malapitan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sakuragi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Malapitan throws a hook but Sakuragi blocks it.
Sakuragi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Malapitan tries to avoid it but Sakuragi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Malapitan to the ground. Malapitan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Khulet Malapitan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hanamichi Sakuragi.
Sakuragi throws a good cross that connects.
A looping hook to the body misses from Malapitan. Sakuragi does a little dance to reset his feet.

Sakuragi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Malapitan did well to prevent Sakuragi getting side control.
