Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leon Lance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urie Sergeyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leon Lance! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Urie Sergeyev! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sergeyev instigates a clinch. Sergeyev is leaning against Lance and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Sergeyev lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Sergeyev connects with a nasty looking knee right to Lance's face.
It looks like Leon Lance has been cut. Sergeyev has Lance pressed against the ropes, preventing Lance from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Sergeyev pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sergeyev goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Sergeyev takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
It looks like Urie Sergeyev has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sergeyev fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lance avoids it really well and circles away. Sergeyev has managed to clinch.
Sergeyev has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Lance regains guard immediately. Lance escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sergeyev gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sergeyev won't allow Lance to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sergeyev wants to control from the top but Lance keeps moving. Sergeyev wanted to stand there but Lance had control of the position. Lance controls Sergeyev momentarily but Sergeyev frees himself. Sergeyev wanted to stand there but Lance had control of the position. Lance seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Sergeyev trying to control the position from guard on top but Lance is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Urie Sergeyev hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Lance swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sergeyev. Sergeyev tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sergeyev clinches up with Lance and pushes him back against the ropes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sergeyev escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sergeyev fails with a takedown attempt. A swing and a miss from Lance. Lance swings for the body but Sergeyev moves out of range.
Sergeyev throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A combination from Lance does no damage. Leon Lance is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sergeyev shoots in for a double leg but Lance sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Leon Lance has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Urie Sergeyev. Lance swats away the attempt to clinch by Sergeyev. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lance slips under a jab. Sergeyev closes the distance and pushes Lance back into the ropes. Lance wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Sergeyev works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lance looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sergeyev is one step ahead there. Sergeyev postures up.
Sergeyev looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Sergeyev throws a big right hand that misses. Lance manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sergeyev wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Sergeyev is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Lance throwing sloppy strikes. Sergeyev is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Lance gets his way!
Sergeyev rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sergeyev is looking for a sweep. Lance is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Sergeyev with the active half guard here but Lance passes nicely into side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sergeyev looks to move to half guard but instead Lance has passed into mount! Damn! Lance misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Lance looking to control but Sergeyev is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Lance looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Sergeyev tries to hold on but Lance postures up. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lance moves to back control. Lance working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Urie Sergeyev will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Sergeyev tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lance defends well and Sergeyev ends up having to push Lance into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch. Sergeyev has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lance clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Sergeyev doesn't have the hooks in and Lance manages to turn into his guard.
Lance trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lance drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lance jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Sergeyev escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lance gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sergeyev has Lance pulled in close to control his posture. Sergeyev keeping moving, preventing Lance from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lance stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sergeyev swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sergeyev looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lance puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Lance missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Sergeyev actively working from the bottom here. Lance is trying to work for a kimura but Sergeyev is defending well.
Lance uses his free foot to push down on Sergeyev's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sergeyev. Lance working for a guillotine from mount but Sergeyev is in no mood to give up. Lance tries to control but Sergeyev wriggling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lance controlling from the full mount. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sergeyev tries to hold on but Lance pushes him away. Sergeyev is trying desperately to improve position. Sergeyev reaches up to try and control the position but Lance seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Sergeyev rolls and tries to escape and now Lance has his back!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Lance's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sergeyev breaks Lance's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Lance looking for a sweep. Not yet Lance, not yet. Sergeyev throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lance works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Lance looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lance is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Leon Lance. Sergeyev doesn't manage to clinch there - Lance circles away.
Sergeyev looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Lance taking some punishment here, with Sergeyev in his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sergeyev tries to pass to full mount but Lance defends it. Lance tries to roll over but Sergeyev keeps him under control. Lance works his way to full guard. Good work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sergeyev lands a couple of elbows. Sergeyev working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Sergeyev with a nice head shot there. Sergeyev with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Lance is trying to control the position from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sergeyev trying to control but Lance is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Urie Sergeyev will probably get the nod - 10:9. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
The fight moves into the clinch position. Sergeyev pulls guard. Lance trying to control the position from guard on top but Sergeyev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sergeyev looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sergeyev controlling the position. Sergeyev manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's one minute gone in the round. Lance keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Lance is looking to control Sergeyev's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lance avoid being mounted? Lance is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sergeyev's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sergeyev's back! Lance doesn't have the hooks in and Sergeyev manages to turn into his guard.
Sergeyev loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lance keeping moving, preventing Sergeyev from controlling successfully. Sergeyev takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Lance looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sergeyev is one step ahead there. Sergeyev postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Lance working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sergeyev postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Sergeyev lands a couple of decent looking shots. Lance not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lance avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lance wants to sweep but no luck. Lance is trying to keep Sergeyev in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sergeyev pushing down on Lance's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Sergeyev misses with a head shot. Lance uses the momentum to regain guard. Lance keeping moving, preventing Sergeyev from controlling successfully. Sergeyev lands a couple of decent looking shots. Lance looking to control.
Sergeyev loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lance lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sergeyev! Sergeyev is trying to get to the ropes to help him get back to his feet.
Urie Sergeyev is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Sergeyev is looking to get to half guard. Lance is in the full mount, landing strikes. Lance sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sergeyev is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Lance can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sergeyev is looking to escape. Sergeyev tries to get back to half guard but can't. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sergeyev wants to hold on but Lance pushes him away. Leon Lance has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Urie Sergeyev has got the better of the ground game so far. Sergeyev defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Lance.
And that's the end of the fight! Urie Sergeyev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sergeyev has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
