Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dusty Stanton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dusty Stanton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Jones! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stanton throws a head kick that misses. Jones looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Jones throws a leg kick and Stanton holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Stanton prevents a takedown attempt there.
Stanton pulls guard. Stanton looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Stanton striking off his back. Jones wants to control from the top but Stanton keeps moving. Stanton has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stanton striking off his back but it's not causing Jones any problems. Stanton is adopting a defensive guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Stanton moves into the clinch. Jones throws an elbow but it misses.
Stanton has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jones is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Stanton trying to land knees to the body.

Stanton manages to pull guard.
Stanton keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Jones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stanton controlling the position. Stanton looking for a sweep. Not yet Stanton, not yet. Stanton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Stanton pulls Jones in close to his closed guard and prevents Jones from doing any damage or advancing position.
Dusty Stanton has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Jones gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. A nice left hand lands by Stanton.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stanton wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
With the fighters up against the cage, Stanton throws an elbow but misses. Jones tries to pull guard but Stanton forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Stanton throws an elbow that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones swings wildly with an uppercut but Stanton uses good head movement to avoid it. Stanton manages to pull guard.
Stanton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Stanton wants to sweep but no luck. Stanton strikes from his own guard. Stanton has control of Jones's left arm, preventing Jones from doing any damage. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Stanton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.
Stanton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stanton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Dusty Stanton just wasn't active enough. Jones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Stanton stuck in half guard on the bottom here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stanton can't do much from the bottom here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stanton tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance. Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown and Stanton counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jones! Stanton has control of an arm but Jones manages to advance to Stanton's back! Stanton tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stanton wants to hold on but Jones pushes him away. Jones misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Stanton tries to hold on but Jones postures up. Jones is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Stanton is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Stanton and Jones has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
A bit of a lull in the action here. Stanton is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jones's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Stanton is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Jones wants to free his trapped foot but Stanton is holding on for dear life with his legs. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Stanton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Dusty Stanton just wasn't active enough. That kick from Stanton tenderised Jones's leg. Jones is trying to keep his angry face on. Jones misses with a two punch combination.
Stanton moves into the clinch. Stanton wants a takedown.
Stanton drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jones gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Stanton tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jones's elbow. Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stanton smiles and moves away.
Jones gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Stanton counters with a nice kick to the body. Dusty Stanton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Jones.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones throws a front kick aimed at Stanton's knee but Stanton avoids it well. Jones has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Stanton leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Stanton closes the distance and pushes Jones back into the cage. Stanton stalls. Jones can't break the clinch.

Stanton lands with a slapping head kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stanton tries to clinch up. Jones with a poor takedown and Stanton counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Stanton. Stanton pulls guard successfully.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Stanton is keeping the position. Stanton controlling the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We're going to have a standup here because Dusty Stanton wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Jones tries for a takedown but Stanton circles away easily and Stanton makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stanton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Stanton circles away.
Jones with a lazy takedown attempt and Stanton decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard. Stanton stands up from Jones's guard - Stanton perhaps looking for a knockout. Stanton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away. Jones tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. The fight moves into the clinch position. Stanton has clasped his hands together around Jones's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stanton looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Stanton is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Stanton thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Stanton in side control, just content to control the action for now. Dusty Stanton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Stanton is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jones has escaped the position, nice work there. Jones is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stanton lands a few punches from side control. Jones trying to remain calm as Stanton controls from the top position. Stanton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jones, who protects the arm well. Jones is looking to reverse the position. Jones tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Jones wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Stanton.
Stanton keeps control of the position as Jones tries to break free.

Stanton's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jones shoots and misses and Stanton cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jones defending well as Stanton loads up on a big left hand. Stanton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stanton wants it to stay on the feet. Dusty Stanton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Jones. Jones with a lazy takedown attempt and Jones takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Jones throws a one two combo.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Stanton tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
Jones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Marcus Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dusty Stanton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Stanton gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dusty Stanton. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stanton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
