Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Busta Rhymes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derrick Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Busta Rhymes!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson lands a high kick!

Johnson gets a clinch.
Johnson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rhymes gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Rhymes is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Rhymes has picked Johnson up - he's going for a ride! Rhymes dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Rhymes is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Johnson misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Rhymes slows the pace down in half guard.

Rhymes moves nicely into side control.

Rhymes stands up.
Rhymes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side.
Rhymes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Johnson. Johnson obviously looking to wear him down.
Johnson keeps the fight on the outside.

Rhymes drives through and clinches with Johnson against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rhymes drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Johnson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Rhymes stalling in the clinch but Johnson improves position.
Rhymes tries to break the clinch but Johnson is controlling the position.

Johnson has picked Rhymes up - he's going for a ride! Johnson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Johnson passes to full mount!

Johnson stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Rhymes gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Johnson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Johnson manages to end up in side control.
Rhymes struggling a bit here.
Rhymes sneaks back into half guard.
Johnson is trying to control the action in half guard but Rhymes is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Johnson is really struggling to control Rhymes but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Johnson wants to stand up but Rhymes is controlling the position.
Rhymes controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Rhymes wants to get back to full guard.
Rhymes is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Johnson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rhymes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rhymes is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Rhymes rushes Johnson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Johnson with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Rhymes misses with a shot to the kidneys.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Derrick Johnson will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Johnson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Johnson tries to stand but Rhymes is controlling his head.
Rhymes regains half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rhymes makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rhymes.
Rhymes manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rhymes throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Johnson because Rhymes loaded up on that one.

Rhymes trying to control but Johnson is having none of it.
Johnson gets back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Johnson has a hand on Rhymes's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Rhymes takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Johnson wants to hold on but Rhymes pushes him away.
Rhymes scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Johnson?
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Johnson tries to control Rhymes's body but Rhymes pushes him off. Johnson squirms to his side and now Rhymes has his back!

Rhymes is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Rhymes controls the position.
Johnson is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Rhymes controls the action.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Rhymes is looking to control Johnson but Johnson is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Rhymes has Johnson flattened out and is raining down punches.
Johnson biding his time here by controlling the hands, looking to escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
What can Johnson do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Busta Rhymes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Rhymes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rhymes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Johnson is looking to get to half guard.
Rhymes content just to control the position here.

Despite being in the dominant position, Busta Rhymes just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Johnson clinches up against the cage.
Johnson tries to pull guard but Rhymes holds him up against the cage and eventually Johnson drops back down to his feet.
Rhymes stops a takedown attempt from Johnson.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rhymes is working for takedown but Johnson is calmly controlling the position for now.
Johnson misses with the head strike.
Rhymes drops down looking for an ankle pick but Johnson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Rhymes has his takedown stuffed

and Johnson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rhymes!
Derrick Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Busta Rhymes.

Johnson is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Johnson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rhymes's sensitive parts.
Johnson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Rhymes's head.

Good leg kick by Johnson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Rhymes steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Johnson. That one must have hurt.
Busta Rhymes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Johnson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Johnson showed some decent athleticism there.

Johnson escapes and gets back to his feet.

and Rhymes counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rhymes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Rhymes stops Johnson from standing up.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Rhymes from controlling successfully.
Johnson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rhymes is controlling him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Johnson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Johnson showed some decent athleticism there.
Rhymes is trying to get back to full guard.
Rhymes avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Johnson.
Johnson wants to take a breather but Rhymes is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rhymes tries to roll over but Johnson keeps him under control.
Johnson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Rhymes.

And that's the end of the fight!
Derrick Johnson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Johnson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
