Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Crag Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Crag Smith has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in but no luck this time.
Black shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Black was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Smith is squirming around, avoiding Black's attempts to control the action.
Black throwing strikes here but Smith is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Black throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Smith because Black loaded up on that one.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Black has his foot on Smith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smith works his way back into a safe position though.

Smith is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Black is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Crag Smith.
