Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daryl Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daryl Dixon!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dixon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mir looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dixon tries to stand but Mir is controlling his head.
Mir struggling a bit here.
Dixon working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Dixon tries to score with some ground and pound. Mir controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Dixon taking a breather here.

Dixon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Dixon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mir keeps working.
Dixon wants to stand but Mir has his arm trapped.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Mir's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Dixon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Dixon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mir, who protects the arm well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dixon has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Dixon is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mir's half guard.
Dixon is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Mir reverses the position - he's now on top in Dixon's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dixon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mir controls the pace.
Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Dixon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Mir makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dixon can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mir wants to control from the top but Dixon keeps moving.
Dixon wants to sweep here but Mir controlling him for the moment.
Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Dixon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Dixon moves into the clinch successfully.

Dixon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Left hook, right uppercut from Dixon.

Mir gets caught flat footed, as Dixon shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Mir is trying to keep Dixon in close.

Mir has his foot on Dixon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dixon works his way back into a safe position though.
Dixon wants to control from the top but Mir keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dixon drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mir looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mir looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mir!
Mir is looking to take a break and control but Dixon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Dixon trying his best to control but Mir has mounted him.
Mir wants to control the pace but Dixon is squirming around nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mir is really struggling to control Dixon but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Dixon tries to hold on but Mir pushes him away.
Dixon can't escape the position.
Dixon squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Dixon throwing hammer fists to the chest of Mir. What's that going to do exactly?
Dixon is squirming around, avoiding Mir's attempts to control the action.
Mir prevents Dixon from getting the reversal.

Mir trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Mir really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dixon can't escape the position.
Mir thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mir tries to control but Dixon wriggling away.
Mir is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Dixon is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Dixon is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Mir looking to control but Dixon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Dixon tries to reverse the position but Mir maintains control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mir lands a big shot there that rocks Dixon but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Daryl Dixon has got the better of the ground game so far.
Dixon is squirming around, avoiding Mir's attempts to control the action.

Mir is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Mir extends the arm and Dixon is forced to tap!
