Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lesley Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ralph Garcie!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walsh moves into the clinch successfully.

Walsh ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Walsh no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Walsh is looking for a triangle but Garcie pushes his legs off easily.
Garcie trying to control the position from guard on top but Walsh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Walsh not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Garcie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Walsh is on top in guard.

Walsh slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ralph Garcie hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Walsh gets the takedown into side control.
Garcie is looking for a sweep.
Walsh trying to control the position but Garcie is working away.
Walsh scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Garcie to see if he's OK.

Garcie tries to bench press Walsh off him but Walsh keeps the position.

Walsh tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Walsh has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Walsh tries to advance to mount but Garcie denies him.
Garcie struggling a bit here.
Garcie manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Garcie wants to control but Walsh is keeping busy.

Walsh is working for a kimura but Garcie is defending it quite comfortably.

Walsh prevents Garcie from improving his position.
Walsh trying to control the action but Garcie is working from the bottom.
Walsh is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Walsh is thwarting Garcie's attempts to control the position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Garcie moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Walsh sitting in guard here, content to control.

Lesley Walsh has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Walsh lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Garcie backs up against the cage.

Walsh gets a clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Walsh breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lesley Walsh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walsh moves out of range of the body kick from Garcie.
Left hook, right uppercut from Walsh.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lesley Walsh dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Walsh moves into range and clinches up with Garcie.

Walsh escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Walsh closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Walsh lands in his opponent's guard.
Garcie looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Walsh sitting in guard here, content to control.

Walsh is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Lesley Walsh just wasn't active enough.
Garcie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Walsh holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Walsh is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Walsh displaying some good clinch control by pressing Garcie up against the cage.

Walsh jumps into guard, dragging Garcie to the mat.
Garcie slips nicely into half guard.
Walsh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Garcie on the ground.
Walsh makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Walsh.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Garcie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walsh swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Garcie is still trying to improve position.

Walsh is looking for a triangle but Garcie pushes his legs off easily.
Garcie looking to pass the guard.
Walsh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Garcie won't allow Walsh to get back to his feet.
Garcie trying to control the position from guard on top but Walsh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Walsh on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Walsh tries to get out of the position.
Walsh can't keep his opponent in guard - Garcie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Garcie is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Garcie is breathing heavily.
Garcie wants to take a breather but Walsh is having none of it.
Garcie tries to pass to full mount but Walsh defends it.
Walsh is trying to stand up here but Garcie is controlling him well.

Garcie has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Walsh defend it? Garcie steps over the head and cranks it - Walsh is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Garcie!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ralph Garcie!
