Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Javier Springfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Patton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Craig Patton has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Javier Springfield's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Javier Springfield! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Craig Patton! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Springfield misses with a series of wild punches.
Some wild striking there from Springfield.
Springfield shoots in for a takedown but Patton shows good takedown defense. Springfield gets a takedown into half guard. Springfield tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Patton. Patton is holding on to half guard well. Springfield trying to pass the guard but Patton defending well. Springfield is looking to take a break and control but Patton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Patton pushes Springfield off looking to stand but Springfield dives back in and keeps control.
Patton is controlling Springfield's position as best he can from this difficult position. Patton is trying to stand back up but Springfield is controlling him
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Springfield wants to clinch up but Patton keeps it at a distance. Springfield shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Springfield. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Javier Springfield. That's going to take a lot out of him. Springfield fails to land the takedown. Springfield is breathing heavily. Patton takes the fight into the clinch. Springfield really is a fat lump.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Patton lands a nice knee to the body. Patton breaks from the clinch.
Patton darts in and clinches Springfield up against the cage. Patton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Springfield wants to get back to striking at distance but Patton won't allow it.

Springfield tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Patton just stands there and leans against the cage. Patton manages to break the clinch.
Springfield shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Patton as he avoids it easily. Patton throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Springfield counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Patton is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Patton throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Patton is looking to stand up but Springfield isn't so interested in that idea. Springfield trying to control but Patton is working from the bottom. Patton has control of Springfield's left arm, preventing Springfield from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Patton keeping moving, preventing Springfield from controlling successfully. Patton is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Patton pushes Springfield off and scrambles back to his feet.
Patton lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Springfield tries to clinch up and Patton counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Springfield wants to improve his position but Patton is controlling well.
Patton controlling the pace. Springfield is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Patton is figuring out what he wants to do next. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Springfield wants to control but Patton is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Springfield wants to get back to full guard. Patton wants to pass to mount but Springfield is defending the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Springfield is looking to land body kicks. Patton fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Springfield fails with the takedown and Patton counters with a shoot takedown. Springfield fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Springfield looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Patton stays in close to Springfield's body and controls the position. Patton trying to control the position from guard on top but Springfield is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Springfield looking to control.
Springfield wants to sweep but no luck. Patton wants to stand but Springfield has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Patton preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Patton tries to stand but Springfield is controlling from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Springfield tries to clinch but fails miserably and Patton counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Springfield lands with a nice body kick. Patton has taken the fight to the clinch.
Patton lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Springfield looking for a takedown. Patton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Patton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Springfield tries to avoid it but Patton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Springfield to the ground. Springfield escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Javier Springfield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Patton is looking to clinch but Springfield is avoiding it.
Springfield scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Springfield creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Patton sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Craig Patton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Springfield gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Patton counters with a left and a right that stings Springfield. Springfield blocks a head kick by Patton.
Patton throws a head kick that misses. Springfield doesn't manage to clinch there - Patton circles away.
Patton with a lazy takedown attempt and Springfield counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. No luck for Springfield with that takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Springfield misses with a takedown and Patton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Springfield won't be happy with that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Javier Springfield. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Springfield gets back to half guard. Springfield wants to control but Patton is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Well, if Patton is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Patton is trying to control the action in half guard but Springfield is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Patton stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Springfield looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Springfield is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Patton is refusing to be controlled, as Springfield sits in half guard. Patton trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Springfield manages to pass to mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Springfield trying to control but Patton is having none of it. Craig Patton has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Patton gets back to half guard. Patton trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Springfield misses with a head shot. Springfield goes for an armbar but Patton turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Patton. Patton slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that's the end of the fight! Craig Patton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Patton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
